It’s widespread known now on the internet age. Boat docks are special places for ceremonies like weddings. They are beautiful, airy and can host a lot of people. Telling from the videos available online, a bunch of them aren’t built for that many people. But if they aren’t, they should have a sign saying how many people it could support. Unfortunately that was not the case for these pier and docks that collapsed and ruined the wedding picture.
It’s not unusual for weddings to have a few minor glitches. Most nuptials though pass of without the happy couple and their closest friends tumbling into a lake. Have that boat dock or pier checked before a big event. A proper dock builder or diver should able to inspect your dock with ease and attest if it’s ready for that event.

That’s what happened to one unlucky wedding party in Minnesota. A video uploaded to YouTube shows a couple identified only as ‘Dan and Jackie’ receiving a soaking, along with their guests, when the pier they are posing on collapses. Three agile bridesmaids manage to leap to safety but for the rest it was time for a quick change of clothes before the festivities could continue. It wasn’t just the bride and groom taking the plunge at a wedding in Minnesota, when the whole party ended up in a lake. Dan and Jackie Anderson were joined by their bridal party in Minnesota for some gorgeous wedding photos when the pier beneath them collapsed. A few bridesmaids managed to escape, but everyone else ended up waist deep in the water. The group were still drying off as guests arrived for the big day.
A West Michigan wedding party ended up soaked after the dock on which they were standing gave way during a photo shoot. No one was injured in Saturday’s plunge during the reception at Bay Pointe Inn on Gun Lake in Shelbyville on June 25 2012.
A boat dock holding 13 people collapsed into the water at the Boca Bayou condominium in 2017, according to Boca Raton Fire Rescue.

Some weddings end without a dry eye in the house; for several guests this one ended without a dry anything. The hilarious footage, filmed on a dock at Little Cay on the Honduran island of Utila, starts simply enough: A couple in love, preparing to say their vows. But then the stirring music ends – and the panicked flailing begins.
